Hello jfurtaw. While not a veteran, I just wanted to let you know you are welcome to call the dietitian if you need some advice/input. You should be able to tolerate solid foods at this point in time. If not (i.e. vomiting frequently, experiencing pain/discomfort), then we need to investigate why you're not tolerating them. If you mean "tolerating" in a portion size way, then yes, your portion sizes will still be small. Portion sizes get bigger with time, but you may be able to consume only 2-4 ounces at a meal at this point. At 8 weeks post-op, you are able to start reintroducing crunchy veggies and fruits and grain products like crackers, pasta. Choose high fiber grain products and limit white bread. When you start to add new foods into your diet, go slow and add one new food at a time. Again, any questions feel free to call St. John Weight Loss and speak with a dietitian. :)

Hi,

I am almost 3 months after my surgery date, and to date I have lost 70lbs. :D :D It took some time for me to get used to getting full so quickly. I had the sleeve done, and I love it.!!!!! Good luck to all.

I am 7 weeks post op from the sleeve and I have lost 36lbs- is this enough? It seems like I can eat more than I thought I would be able to. Can someone give me an idea of what a typical meal (in terms of volume/amount) that can be eaten at this stage? I can eat a piece of chicken and watermelon and maybe a few crackers. Wondering if this is too much or what? I have NO problems swallowing anything as well as no intolerances. Help from a veteran.........
